SidewaysBike by Michael Killian from Ireland. The sideways is a weird bike with independently steerable wheels that exercises the same balance detection and rides like a snowboard.
“‘The sideways bike is a two wheel steering bicycle with independently steerable wheels that travels sideways. This steering arrangement affords a unique and distinct motion that is both entertaining and graceful; much like the motion of a snowboard. The sideways bike is an instrument of fun and play and is best suited for children from age 7 and up. The sideways bike is recognizably a bicycle, but it is recognizably different.”

The BlackTrail BT-01 electric bike from PG-Bikes costs as much as a luxury car and can give some motorcycles a run for their money in terms of features and speed yet technically it’s still a electric push-pedal bicycle. Made of carbon fiber, NASA grade aluminum, titanium, and magnesium forget pedaling because the bike can go as fast as 62mph for up to 100 miles on a single 2 1/2 hour charge. But it’s not all about speed as it also cruises easily at 20-30mph for convenient ‘about town’ travel and has brake lights, a speed indicator, and a stylish leather casing around the battery pack. The BlackTrail BT-01 is limited to 667 pieces for $80,000 each.

There’s not nearly enough storage space to make this bike useful for an extended road trip, but commuters who are tired of getting to work with a sweaty back thanks to a backpack, or are simply embarrassed about having a basket on their handlebars, should appreciate its design. Integrated into the frame of the bike is a storage compartment that’s perfectly sized for a briefcase, messenger bag or even a laptop bag since it provides considerable more protection than a pannier hanging off the side. And because the compartment is centered in the middle of the bike it also doesn’t hinder your balance when riding, even when fully loaded.
