The first recorded instance of pants was in ancient Greek scriptures that described horse-riding Persian arrivals from the North. In the second half of the 20th century, pants were widely adopted by women. The first pair of “Hammer pants” was made in Vancouver in 1975, and in 2006, young girls everywhere got leggings confused with pants. Now in its 11th year, the Annual No Pants Subway Ride is a goose-fleshed display of solidarity that takes place every January in dozens of cities around the world. The only rules are that you must not act like anything is unusual, and you must otherwise be kitted out in full winter wear. The video from this year’s No Pants Subway Ride in New York two weeks ago has just surfaced, see more at Improv Everywhere.
